Things To Know During Your Visit
At the Botanical Garden
Restrooms are available in the Nevin Welcome Center. Please note: Restrooms are not available in the Botanical Garden area when the Nevin Welcome Center is closed. Click here for current hours.
When the welcome center is closed, we suggest that visitors use the restrooms available at the Cornell Dairy Bar Stocking Hall, a five minute walk from the botanical garden. Click here for Dairy Bar hours.
At the F. R. Newman Arboretum
Outdoor portable restrooms are available next to the sculpture garden in the heart of the arboretum.
Parking Fee in the Botanical Garden parking lot
The parking lot to access the Nevin Welcome Center and the Botanical Garden is a Cornell University metered lot at the cost of $1.50 per hour from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for a maximum of three hours.
Visitors are not required to pay to park during evening hours and on
weekends. Parking lots at the F. R. Newman Arboretum, Mundy Wildflower Garden and other off-campus natural areas are free.
F. R. Newman Arboretum is closed during winter
The F. R. Newman Arboretum is closed to vehicle traffic during the winter months. Pedestrians are welcome to explore the arboretum every day from
dawn to dusk. Parking is available at the Mundy Wildflower Garden
parking lot off of Caldwell Road at the intersection with Forest Home
Drive, which is directly across from the arboretum. To find out whether the Arboretum is closed to vehicles, pelase call our information desk at (607) 255-2400 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rules of Etiquette
To ensure the health of our plant collections, and for the enjoyment of all our visitors, please follow these rules:
Carry litter out with you.
Keep all dogs on leashes and clean up after them.
The following activities are prohibited at Cornell Botanic Gardens:
Picking flowers, plants, fruits, and vegetables.
Outdoor fires and grilling.
Organized athletic games.
Climbing on trees or sculptures.
Fishing in the Arboretum Ponds.
